Ultimus Engineering provided design and FEA analysis for a high pressure flanged head vessel for an industrial application.  A non-linear FEA analysis was utilized to determine the pressure required to deform the gasket sealing surfaces to the point at which a seal failure would occur.  

The pressure was increased at a constant rate from 1,000 psi to 10,000 psi, it was determined that at approximately 7,000 psi the vessel head flange would lose gasket seal compression contact stress.
