Waste Heat Recovery System CFD

Ultimus Engineering provided a feasibility analysis for a proposed waste heat recovery system within an industrial facility.  The study culminated in the optimization of a u-tube heat exchanger design proposed by Ultimus Engineering.  

The evaluation was conducted using a CFD model to minimize gas outlet temperature and maximize coolant outlet temperature, utilizing the space available.  A conjugate heat transfer model was applied, along with the k-omega turbulence model.  After running each iteration, the convergence plot was evaluated to ensure a valid solution was produced.
